Injured Hiker in Livermore

Livermore, NH – On Saturday, October 24, shortly before 8:00 p.m., New Hampshire Fish and Game was notified that a hiker with an injured knee was attempting to descend the Pine Bend Brook Trail alone. The hiker was Brian Fournier, 22, of Bethany, CT. Fournier was hiking alone on a 20-mile loop and was initially reported as being overdue. He was able to place a call from the ridge in the vicinity of North Tripyramid Mountain. The call placed him 3 miles from the trailhead, and he also was able to report that his knee was injured, and he was making progress slowly.

Due to the location and time of day, a small group of Fish and Game Conservation Officers and Lakes Region Search and Rescue volunteers responded. Rescuers met Fournier 1.5 miles up the trail. They stabilized his knee and assisted him back to the trailhead. The group arrived back shortly after 11:00 p.m.

Lakes Region Search and Rescue is a highly skilled volunteer search and rescue organization whose members work hard to maintain the skills and equipment necessary to carry out rescues across the state.
